چکیده

DESCRIPTION A 48-year-old woman was referred for investigation of chest pain. While having a treadmill exercise tolerance test she developed marked ST-segment elevation with chest pain during stage 1 of the Bruce protocol (figure 1), which resolved promptly at the end of the exercise (figure 2). The patient was transferred to the cardiac catheterisation laboratory for emergent coronary angiography. The left

Coronary arterial spasm as a cause of exercise-induced ST-segment elevation in patients with variant angina.

Four patients with variant angina pectoris exhibited reproducible exercise-induced chest pain and ST-segment elevation. Coronary arterial spasm was documented with arteriography during exercise-induced ST-segment elevation (three patients) or after intravenous administration of ergonovine maleate (one patient). Our observations show that in patients with variant angina exercise can trigger coro...

Blocked Coronary Artery Due To Coronary Spasm Treated With Stent Insertion: A Sub-Optimal Result?

Myocardial infarction (MI) is an extremely common cause of chest pain. MI can be acute with ST elevation (STEMI) or non-STEMI (NSTEMI). Coronary artery spasm can be severe enough to cause occlusion of the coronary arteries particularly with an exaggerated response in regions of coronary atheroma and plaque ulceration. It is not uncommon for coronary spasm to be mistaken with acute thrombotic oc...

Coronary artery spasm of different degrees as cause of angina at rest with ST segment depression and elevation.

Chest pain induced by ergometrine was associated with ST depression and subsequent elevation in anterior leads in a 42-year-old man suffering from angina at rest. Coronary arteriography during the attack showed that coronary arterial spasm of different degrees was responsible for chest pain and both types of electrocardiographic abnormality.

Coronary spasm that caused non-ST elevation myocardial infarction appeared in cath lab due to vasovagal reaction

Coronary artery spasm is sometimes an unrecognized cause of myocardial ischemia. Myocardial ischemia is not always a product of fixed stenosis; it can also be induced by dynamic, transient stenosis. The angiogram represents the current state of vasculature at the time of examination and absence of stenosis does not mean disease absence. We present a case of right coronary artery spasm that caus...

Coronary Artery Spasm During Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography: A Case Report

Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) has been widely used as a diagnostic and prognostic modality in the management of stress. DSE is associated with limited complications and adverse effects on the health of patients. In this case report, we described a 42-year-old female patient with dobutamine-induced coronary artery spasm with history of exertional dyspnea, which had deteriorated recent...
